ABOUT X-SPEED AUSTRALIA
About X-Speed Australia Cycle Club Inc was founded in July 2017 by cycling stalwarts Amanda O’Connor and Murray Hall.
The formation of the club is a legacy from the 2016 Pacific Youth Track Tournament, a bi annual international junior track cycling event for Asian and Western Australian riders.
O’Connor and Hall were approached by X-Speed Hong Kong with the idea of establishing a sister club in Perth to facilitate an international student exchange program for educational services and a rider exchange program.
The concept was exciting to the West Australian duo and the idea developed into a unique modern day cycling club model.
With a holistic view of young athlete development the club delivers value to its members through education, workshops, coaching, mentoring and future vocational programs in addition to domestic and overseas racing opportunities.
Club chairman Amanda O’Connor says “Whether your child is eight years old and looking to learn some skills and have fun on a bike or ride with their mates, through to the more serious competitive side of high performance sport, X-Speed Australia embraces all within our road and track cycling programs. “
With club values of integrity, teamwork, giving back and humility X-Speed aim to develop an all round athlete both on and off the bike.
X-Speed Australia is based at the world-class indoor Midvale velodrome located at the gateway to the Swan Valley. From this newly refurbished venue the club runs programs for beginners through to advanced competition preparation, track taster’s for community and corporate groups and an on-site testing room and ergo facility.
Junior road cycling programs run in Midland, Perth Hills and Fremantle.
X-Speed Australia offers junior athletes opportunities and structured pathways through multiple associations with the West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) National Cycling Centre WA and Murdoch University Sports Science Unit.
